oikos International is a student-led organization with the objective of integrating the theme of sustainability into economics and management education. Founded in Switzerland in 1987, it comprises 43 local associations in 20 countries, which share their perspectives on today’s world and the future, namely in terms of education, leadership and sustainability.

Its work is focused on empowering young leaders and preparing them for the challenges of the 21st century. To this end, it organizes leadership and personal development programs, establishes collaborations with universities and student movements to work on curriculum change, and finally fosters dialogue and debate within and outside of its community.

oikos International collaborates with several international organizations, such as UN PRME, Positive Impact Rating, Rethinking Economics, EAUC (the Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education), and SOS International among others.
